I haven’t slept in 37 hours. That would be fine usually, but 26 of those 37 hours were spent non-stop dancing. Dancing for the kids, for the cure to cancer. I am so tired, I’m so sore, my feet are swollen, my back is stiff, but I know these nuisances are nothing compared to what the kiddos went through or are currently going through.
We raised over $1.3 this year. And all of this goes to the kids.
TODAY is Dance Marathon 18 at the University of Iowa. What is DM, you ask? It’s only the most powerful and eye-opening student organization at UIowa. Dance Marathon is 365 days that create hope, 24 hours that celebrate the fight, and 1 Power Hour that makes a miracle. All the money raised by the participants goes to finding the cure to pediatric cancer. There is no sitting in DM, and no caffeine either. When cancer is cured we’ll dance for joy, until then we dance for life.
One Goal, One Fight.
We don’t sit because cancer doesn’t quit.
And as always, FOR THE KIDS.
All year long, participants raise money and in February, we dance. We dance for 24-hours straight. No sitting. No sleeping. On our feet, for one whole day. What do we do it for? We do it For The Kids with cancer. Those brave kiddos are my heros, my inspiration. They don’t let anything or anyone get them down. They’re so full of life, even when they’re hurting.
I was in Dance Marathon last year, and I raised $475.00 for it. This year I would like to surpass it. My goal is $575.00. Please help me reach this goal, it would mean so much to me. It would mean so much to the kids. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I’m lucky enough to have the chance to do it twice, maybe even more.
Last year, my school’s total donations was $1,058,658.16. It’d be such a joy to increase that number. A huge reason that I participate is because of my cousin Joey who passed a few years ago, from complications with Leukaemia. I do it for Joey, and I do it For the Kids.
We don’t sit because cancer doesn’t quit.

Who called it? Yup, that’d be me. You guys have no idea how excited I am for this. He’s my favorite favorite rapper right now. He has been for a while. I was at his concert at Iowa State last April and it was….amazing. I know this one’s going to be even more great because he’ll be showcasing Camp.
Yes, that Dave Coulier. As in Uncle Joey from Full House.
